Chemical Properties of Single Superphosphate (SSP) fertilizer
The following are the chemical properties of SSP fertilizer:
- Phosphorus content: 7 to 9% (16 to 20% P2O5)
- Calcium (Ca) content: 18 to 21%
- S content: 11 to 12%
- pH: < 2
Crops SSP fertilizer can be used for
- Single Super Phosphate (SSP) fertilizer can be applied as a starter fertilizer to supply phosphorus for root development to crops like pepper, cucumber, egg plants, watermelon, okra, lettuce and kale etc. Healthy roots will extract more water and nutrients from the soil, this can significantly improve crop yield.
- Single Super Phosphate fertilizer can also be applied to tree and fruit crops during the root development and flower blooming stages. These tree and fruit crops include cocoa, oil palm, cashew, mango, orange, apple and pawpaw etc.
- Broad acre crops like maize, sorghum, millet, sesame and sugarcane etc can also benefit from the application of SSP fertilizer.
- SSP fertilizer can also be applied to crops like pasture, fodders and flowers.
